Comments about Ll Building Products Tandem Whole House Fan WHFT1:

I found it the big orange box store. And surprisingly this model was actually less expensive than another tandem with a door on top I was going to buy. Yeah, it's noisy, but I don't feel it's louder than the larger, single whole house fan than I just replaced with this one. I don't like that it only has one remote, so if I'm upstairs in bed and I forgot the remote or downstairs and I didn't bring it down... But that's just me being a little lazy. That larger, single fan did pull more air, but the remote and insulated, automatic door were the benefits that sold me.

Easy to install except after installation, cover kept opening on opening and closing when it was turned off. Company suggested replacing the whole fan. I was able to adjust the limit switch after some time.

I would recommend using hearing protection with this fan,

Own 1920 cottage in Dallas - 1500 sq ft - open a few windows - you can really feel it move air - had to install in bedroom - no hallway available - noisy - but in hallway outside bedrooms ok - air drafts nicely over and under doors at night - Jun-Sept prob lower electric bills 150-200 month - was 450-500 month - kids and wife are happy - enough said.

I didn't expect it to be so loud I couldn't talk in the other room with it on. Too loud to run all night if you plan on sleeping. I also expected more air movement out of it. I actually probably need 2 for my house. Nice looking unit and easy to install though.
